CAPEX Controller – Noord-Brabant



On behalf of one of our clients, a company in the food producing industry, DutchDare International is recruiting for a CAPEX Controller. This fixed position requires fulltime availability (40hrs/ week).

You report to the Corporate Controller (hierarchical) and with a dotted line to the Engineering Services Leader (functional).


Lead controlling activities in the designated area of responsibility: CAPEX.Our organization is in a business which is capital intensive. We have (as part of its strategy) a significant investment roadmap in the upcoming years. Next to this we have a regular CAPEX program to maintain the standard of its current assets. As a result, we acknowledges the need to professionalize CAPEX controlling.A strict control over these CAPEX expenditures is necessary, both from an economic and a compliance point of view. As Capex controller your role and objectives are to:

  • Ensure the proper long term forecasting & budgeting of these CAPEX in accordance.
  • Ensure the proper documentation of significant projects together with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the proper follow-up of these capital expenditures during the whole investment cycle.
  • Update the internal rules and processes with regards to CAPEX.
  • Be the project controller of medium-sized value projects.
Controlling is:
  • Ensure an independent and overarching view of company quantitative and qualitative performance through adequate analyses, recommendations and monitoring of the execution of the strategy.
  • Create coherence throughout the organization with clear performance management guidelines risk management and internal control framework and deployment.
  • Ensure adequate management reporting.
  • Ensure adequate corporate risk management.
  • Ensure adequate financial forecasting in alignment with IBM process (FC), Annual Budgeting and multi-year strategic planning.


  • Bachelor level in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • At least 7 - 10 years of relevant professional experience in a controlling role in international environment, of which at least a period in project controlling.
  • Business acumen and affinity within at least the AOR including professional experience.
  • Good knowledge of best practices and finance/ controlling excellence.
  • Experience in leading projects and teams
  • Strong understanding of Risk management and Corporate Governance practices.
  • Financial understanding, strong numeric insight & analytical skills, modeling skills and attention to detail (accounting and reporting accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an advanced knowledge of business concepts.
  • Ability to develop and effectively manage strong relationships and partnerships with internal customers and peers.
  • Problem-solving, analytical and prioritization skills
  • A professional, planned and organized way of working, along with an objective and pragmatic approach.
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work productively within a dynamic working environment.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change.
  • Good level of SAP and Business Objects experience required.
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written, secondary modern languages including Dutch are considered advantageous.
